Today new life was breathed into all the teams fighting for the NL Wildcard. The Reds acquired Ryan Franklin from the Phillies for the proverbial player to be named later (who cares who that is). I am just glad he will not be trotting in from the bullpen for the Phillies anymore. If Franklin blows half the amount of games for the Reds that he blew for the Phillies, the Reds will lose the wildcard by double digits. Todays blockbuster trade may have more impact on the NL wildcard race than any other trade. A negative for the Reds but a positive for the Phillies and the rest of the pack.
