- Pat Burrell is batting .318 against lefties compared to only .234 against righties. Is a platoon situation in order? This is why Burrell catches so much critism because he is making 10 million dollars as a platoon player who provides no defense. Michael Bourn should be recalled and given some playing time because Chris Roberson is never going to make it as a big leaguer.
- Phil Hughes may not be such the sure thing that Brian Cashman is making him out to be. Of the 11 pitchers drafted in the first round by the Yankees since 1965 only one has reached the big leagues. Hughes seems to be the real deal but the Yanks track record speaks for itself.
- The Flyers announced all 82 games will be televised next season. Head over to http://www.philadelphiaflyers.com/pressbox/archive/2676.asp to see the full schedule.
- The most exciting part of the Sixers season occurred last night. Of course I'm talking about the unveiling of the Sixers dancers.
- I just caught Martin Truex Jr, Nascar driver, on Cold Pizza. Truex is from New Jersey and a big Philly sports fan. Jay Crawford asked him a few questions. Truex said the Sixers should keep AI, should have kept Abreu, and predicted the championship curse gets broken this year by the Eagles.
- Sporting News is endorsing the idea of Lou Piniella replacing Charlie Manuel. They do mention though if Dusty Baker gets the boot from the Cubs, Piniella will get a long look from Chicago.
- Visit http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/sports/15246907.htm to read a great article about Chase Utley and the Phillies.
- Jon Lieber takes the mound tonight versus Kyle Lohse in a battle between wild card contending teams. The Reds come to Philly to face the Phightin' tonight at 7:05. Hopefully the their is a big, enthusiastic crowd in attendance.
