Rowand Breaks Ankle

Aaron Rowand suffered a broken ankle last night in his collision with Chase Utley. Rowand will go on the 15-day DL and will miss 4-6 weeks. This leaves the everyday outfield as Burrell, Victorino, and Delluci. Not bad but it leaves the bench completely depleted. Roberson and Sandoval along with a backup catcher are all thats left. Obviously a move will be made. The Phils have two open roster spots because Gordon also went on the DL. I believe two position players should be recalled. Michael Bourn definitely should get a shot and the other options are less attractive. Bobby Scales, a utility player, is probably the best option. Pat Gillick needs to scour the waiver wire again and come away with another "Jamie Moyer." That players name is Reggie Sanders, outfielder for the Royals. He would come cheap and provide valuable playoff experience. The Phillies have endured many difficulties this year and this latest event is nothing more than another difficulty. The Phillies will survive Rowand's injury and continue playing good ball. Chase Utley has become the team leader and he won't let anything else happen. He will keep everyone focused and playing hard and aggressive.
