South Florida is Hot
I am not referring to the temperature either. Apparently according to an ESPN report the Florida Marlins were very close to replacing Joe Girardi as manager on Sunday. It was reported that he, owner Jeffrey Luria, GM Larry Beinfest, and President David Samson had a heated discussion over team strategy and philosophy. I think that Girardi will be a very good manager in the big leagues and wanted him to replace Charlie Manuel after last season. Girardi downplayed the incident but there is still tension between skipper and owner and the owner always wins those arguments. Should Girardi be relieved of his duties following the year, I think he would make a great replacement here in Philly. He is a straight shooter who comes from the old school and played the game the right way ala Chase Utley or Aaron Rowand.
Also the picture is of me meeting Joe Girardi at Citizens Bank Park before the Phillies and Marlins opened their 5 game set.
