Its Official

The Flyers have finally signed Simon Gagne. Gagne signed a 26.25 million dollar deal over five years. Bob Clarke flew to Gagne's home in Montreal to meet with him personally to finish the deal. They agreed to a contract just four days before training camp opens. Gagne had an excellent season last year playing alongside Peter Forsberg. To reach the goal, the Stanley Cup championship, the Flyers will need Gagne and Forsberg to play at a high level all year long. I am far from Bobby Clarke's favorite fan, but kudos to getting this deal done fairly and in time for Gagne to make it to camp on time.

The Flyers have also unveiled their new marketing slogan for the year. "It Means More Here. Our City. Our Team." Not a bad slogan and it sure beat the Phillies "Red Means Go."

Comments:
that stupid slogan "reds means go" is horrible. we should blame the phillies woes on it. forget blaming manuel, forget burrell's troubles, forget everything...DAMN "Red Means Go"!!!
